Location Millbrook – the film and photography shoot venue – works with a whole host of experienced professional photographers who use the site for everything from front cover shoots to billboard adverts. So, we thought it was about time we gave something back to the world of photography and what better way to do this than offer photography students the chance to make their first big break in the world of professional photography?
We know that it is difficult to get the right quantity and quality of experience necessary for that first job, so we teamed up with Photo Pro Magazine to set up the Location Millbrook Student Photographer of the Year (in association with Canon) competition.
This opportunity offers students the chance to win three ‘money-can’t-buy’ assignments here at Location Millbrook, a portfolio of your work and written testimonials, plus a superb Canon 50D and EF-S17-85 IS lens.
Location Millbrook spans 700 acres including tracks, laboratories and futuristic event spaces and has opened its doors to high-profile projects that are definitely worth boasting about. These include regular visits from leading automotive publications, slots on TV shows Fifth Gear and Top Gear, a record-breaking stunt scene in Bond film Casino Royale and scenes from current cinema blockbuster 44" Chest to name a few, so you’ll be following in some pretty big footsteps

How to enter
If you’re a student, then all you have to do to enter is provide a picture you’ve taken that sums up the idea of location – remember it needs to catch the judges’ eyes so creativity is the key. It could be a stunning modern building, an intriguing piece of woodland, a futuristic shopping centre or a dreamy beach.
